Dr. Natterstad is the President
of The Frascino Medical Group in Los Altos, California,
a private practice established over 10 years ago to provide
comprehensive and compassionate care for people living
with HIV. He graduated with honors from the University
of California Los Angeles School of Medicine. Subsequently,
he completed an internship, residency, and general medicine
fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Natterstad
is a member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
He also appears as an expert in the Spanish
language forum “Tratamientos” at The Body,
an HIV/AIDS information resource website (www.thebody.com).
Dr. Natterstad began the study
of piano at the age of seven. While studying piano in
Southern California, he performed frequently in recital
and participated regularly in master classes. At age
18, he was one of ten pianists in the state of California
chosen by the Music Teachers Association to receive
the Young Artists Guild Award.
Dr. Natterstad, his life
partner Dr. Robert Frascino, and his piano professor
Dr. William Wellborn of the San Francisco Conservatory
of Music have performed a series of concerts entitled
A Concerted Effort to benefit AIDS service organizations
throughout the world. Their efforts to date have raised
more than $1,000,000. Drs. Natterstad and Frascino are
the recipients of the National Society of Fundraising
Executives' Distinguished Honoree/Silicon Valley Philanthropy
Award. In 1999, Drs. Natterstad and Frascino established
The Robert James Frascino Aids Foundation, a 501(c)(3)
philanthropic organization whose sole mission is to
provide crucial services for men, women, and children
living with HIV/AIDS and to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS
epidemic through advocacy and education.
