Dr. Natterstad is the President of The Frascino Medical Group in Los Altos, California, a private practice established over 10 years ago to provide comprehensive and compassionate care for people living with HIV. He graduated with honors from the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine. Subsequently, he completed an internship, residency, and general medicine fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Natterstad is a member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Dr. Natterstad began the study of piano at the age of seven. While studying piano in Southern California, he performed frequently in recital and participated regularly in master classes. At age 18, he was one of ten pianists in the state of California chosen by the Music Teachers Association to receive the Young Artists Guild Award.

Dr. Natterstad, his life partner Dr. Robert Frascino, and his piano professor Dr. William Wellborn of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music have performed a series of concerts entitled A Concerted Effort to benefit AIDS service organizations throughout the world. Their efforts to date have raised more than $1,000,000. Drs. Natterstad and Frascino are the recipients of the National Society of Fundraising Executives' Distinguished Honoree/Silicon Valley Philanthropy Award. In 1999, Drs. Natterstad and Frascino established The Robert James Frascino Aids Foundation, a 501(c)(3) philanthropic organization whose sole mission is to provide crucial services for men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS and to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic through advocacy and education.
